DEAD BABY FOUND ENCASED IN CEMENT-FILLED PLASTIC TUB

A dead newborn baby was found buried in a plastic tub filled with concrete in the garage of a Missouri home.

After police responded to reports of a car theft and drug investigations at a Pleasant Hill, MO home, they discovered an awful scene. A dead baby was recovered entombed in a plastic tub filled with concrete. An autopsy was ordered to determine whether the baby was a stillborn or had been killed before this gruesome burial.

“During the course of that investigation, it led us not only to the stolen auto and to some minor drug paraphernalia and drugs, but it also led us to a capsule that we believed contained a body of an infant that had possibly been born sometime in the first part of October,” Driscoll told Fox4 Kansas city.

“An autopsy is being carried out to determine if the baby was alive when he or she was born and authorities said a decision on charges would be made following the autopsy report,” reported  The Daily Mail.

Upon investigation, it later “emerged that the mother has been in the hospital for several weeks, and that her four other children have been staying with grandparents,” according to The Daily Mail.

Prosecutors are weighing whether or not to press charges, pending investigation to see if a crime was committed in this situation. But the gruesome nature of the story has prompted neighbors of the home to speak out. Whether the baby’s burial was criminal or not, “there’s no reason that a baby should be put in placement of concrete in a tub. That’s not a proper burial, and that’s not what we all stand for,” neighbor Kurt Brent told Fox4.

The homeowners are reportedly cooperating with police.
