IGBINEDION VENTURES INTO ENTERTAINMENT

A multimillion naira cinema and entertainment centre with over 800 audience capacity will soon attract the attention of tourists and fun seekers in Benin City, the capital of Edo State, and beyond when the family of the Esama of Benin kingdom, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, unveils the edifice.

Known as Kada Cinemas and Entertainment Centre, the gigantic structure, which would be inaugurated on November 11, when operational, would provide jobs for about 500 people.

The state-of-the-art and all-time automated technology-driven edifice located along the high brow Sapele Road, in the state capital, is built to meet international standards and to further shift the attention of millions of fun seekers and lovers of the entertainment from the already crowded Lagos, Port Harcourt and Abuja to further boost the South-South geo-political zone of the country.

The Project Director of the complex, Mr. Andre Griesel, told journalists yesterday in Benin City that the edifice is the first of its kind in Nigeria and was built for people of Edo state and the pleasure of people in the South-south zone, Nigerians and the world all over "with experience of a life time." Griesel disclosed that the complex has the capacity to accommodate over 806 audience in all the five cinema complexes within the three-floor building simultaneously.

He said: "It is unique because I think it is the first in Benin and I have been in Nigeria for quite a while and I have never seen any entertainment centre for people like this anywhere. For the people of Benin City, I think this is a wonderful new experience. You can take your family for a day outing; you eat, play games, enjoy yourself and watch movies. It is a place people can stay to spend quality time together."

The Kada cinemas and entertainment centre is equipped with five cinema halls including the one for VIPs, banking hall, digital projectors, sports bar, snookers and tennis complex, Chinese restaurant and local kitchen, bumper car saloon, coffee shop, business shops for gift items, bureau de change, telephone shop and private dining hall.
