IDRIS ELBA ADMITS HE'S NERVOUS ABOUT GLOBE AWARDS

In the last 12 months actor Idris Elba has played steely hard policeman Luther and freedom fighter Nelson Mandela, but it doesn’t seem either of these characters have rubbed off much on the star who’s admitted he’s nervous about the Golden Globes.

Speaking to Chelsea Handler on her show Chelsea Lately, the star admitted he was nervous and said he would be splitting his time between two tables – the Mandela table and the Luther table.

He said: ‘Yeah, the problem is there's two tables to sit on: there's a Mandela table and there's a Luther table.’

The actor added: ‘So, since I already won at the Luther table, I was going to sit at the Mandela table. But if I don't win that, I'm gonna run back to the Luther table and just be like, “Hey, sorry about that, guys. I got this one.”’

The star was nominated for Best Actor in a Motion Picture Drama for his role as Nelson Mandela in Mandela: Long Walk To Freedom.

He’s also been nominated for Best Actor in a Mini-Series of TV movie for Luther.

Wearing a dark polo shirt and casual chinos for the chat with show host Chelsea, Idris looked relaxed and calm about the up-coming award season.
