WORLD'S RICHES BLACK WOMAN, FOLORUNSO ALAKIJA WELCOMES SECOND GRANDCHILD


Africa’s richest woman and Nigeria’s style icon, Folorunso Alakija is in an estactic mood. Her son, Ladi has made her a grandmother for the second time. It was gathered that Alakija’s daughter-in-law, Lolade was delivered of a baby boy in the early hours of Saturday, January 11st 2014, in the United States . Since the baby’s arrival, the oil billionaire has been overjoyed, and her joy is been shared by her husband, Modupe Alakija as well as Lolade’s parents, who are first time grandparents.


It will be recalled that, in May and August 2012, Ladi got married to Lolade in Lagos and London respectively. Lolade is the daughter of Yemi Cardoso, the former Lagos Commissioner and chairman of CITI Bank, Nigeria, and his wife Bimbola, a financial consultant and daugher of the late Otunba TOS Benson. Lolade is a graduate of Business Finance from University of Manchester, United Kingdom. Ladi is a Law graduate from Warwick University. The Alakijas had their first grandchild, Femi six years ago.
